Debbie Boon’s captivating wildlife paintings are born from two passions: the joy of breathing life into a blank canvas and the delight of capturing the vibrant, quirky rural characters and vast blue skies of Eastern England. Living in Norfolk, with its stunning coastline and landscapes, has profoundly influenced her work, infusing it with a true sense of place.

Her art strives “to reflect life and all its visual personality.” After graduating from Art College, Debbie ventured into graphic design before gaining recognition as a children’s book illustrator and establishing herself as a versatile painter. Her illustrative background inspires her to create character-rich images, whether depicting animals, people, or landscapes, using expressive techniques, dynamic color, and a lively interplay of light and movement.

Working primarily with heavy-bodied acrylics, Debbie builds her compositions by swiftly blocking in major elements and then layering paint to create depth and vibrancy. The rich textures and energetic execution of her work mirror the sheer joie de vivre she experiences when engaging with a subject.

Debbie’s art seamlessly bridges traditional and contemporary aesthetics. Her recent pieces have been showcased at prestigious events like the Concours of Elegance—featuring venues such as St James’s Palace, Hampton Court Palace, and the Palace of Holyroodhouse—and have even been chosen for the Royal Box at The Royal Windsor Show, as well as featured in a TV documentary.
