Think | Touch | Move
Dan's approach to making art is deliberately experimental. Rather than being defined by one particular material or technique, he is interested in discovering what happens when different processes are brought together.
Contemporary culture provides much of the visual language. Familiar faces, symbols, typography and references to popular culture are reworked through layers of colour, texture and material, creating images that feel recognisable while remaining distinctly his own.
That willingness to experiment extends beyond the conventional canvas. Dan's practice encompasses mixed-media originals, light works, sculpture, large-scale installations, murals and film projects, allowing an idea to determine the medium rather than the other way around.
There is also a deliberate sense of accessibility to the work. Dan doesn't believe contemporary art needs to feel overly serious or difficult to understand. The first response might simply be colour, energy or recognition; the materials and ideas reveal themselves afterwards.
It brings us back to those three deceptively simple words: Think. Touch. Move.
