Artist Profile
Henri Miller is a contemporary mixed media artist who takes his inspiration from popular culture and travel.
Best known for his energetic use of colour and the differing techniques he uses to create his vision, Miller’s creative process begins with an emotional response to his immediate environment. He then turns his vision into a reality, using a combination of digital expression with hand-drawn and hand-coloured elements and a variety of materials to create his unique effects.
Born in France, MiIler lived and studied Fine Art in Berlin in the 1990s. Captivated by the city’s nightlife and culture, he immersed himself in the underground art scene, creating shows inspired by music, politics and photography.
After graduating, he continued to travel and work across Europe, where he absorbed a wide range of influences.
His frame of cultural reference expanded as he encountered different cities, from the renaissance rooms at the Uffizi to the explosion of street art in Amsterdam, Berlin and London and as a result, began to develop a distinctive personal style. Outside the cities, a three-month stint in the vineyards of Épernay provided the impetus for Miller’s most recent collection of work which we are proud to show in Startle, celebrating the world’s most iconic Champagne brands.
Miller’s recent works explore the possibilities of working with aluminium and resin and have been featured in exclusive art spaces and at events across Europe.
