Artist Profile

Henderson Cisz is a Brazilian-born contemporary artist celebrated for atmospheric cityscapes that capture the energy and romance of urban life. Bringing a modern sensibility to a traditional genre, he transforms familiar streets, landmarks and skylines into evocative scenes shaped by light, movement and changing weather.

Born in 1960, Henderson began painting seriously in his teens before leaving Brazil in the mid-1980s to pursue art full-time. In London, he first painted portraits of passers-by on Shaftesbury Avenue, later exhibiting along the Bayswater Road, where his work began attracting collectors.

Now based in a riverside London studio, Henderson exhibits internationally and is collected by private and corporate buyers. His accolades include the John Solomon Trophy and Artist of the Year in 2007, while his career has also been celebrated in two bestselling art books.
