Weather Changes Moods II captures the distinctive tension between beauty and transience that runs through Teis Albers’ work.

Delicate floral forms emerge from layers of photography, colour and texture, moving between areas of soft, almost mist-like light and a dramatically darker background. Deep pinks, flashes of orange and muted botanical tones punctuate the composition, while fragmented flowers and foliage appear to surface and disappear within the image.

There is an intriguing contrast between the traditional subject of the floral still life and Teis’ distinctly contemporary approach. Rather than presenting the flowers as a perfectly arranged composition, elements are layered, interrupted and partially obscured, giving the artwork a sense of movement and change.

Created through Teis’ combination of digital collage and traditional mixed media techniques, the work rewards closer inspection, with smaller marks, textures and details gradually revealing themselves across the surface.

The result is atmospheric and beautifully balanced — a contemporary interpretation of floral imagery that feels both dramatic and unexpectedly delicate.
