Barry Hilton was born in Manchester in 1941 but moved to Cornwall in 1979 where he began to develop his style of painting dramatic skies that have made him one of the most sought after artists working in the UK today.

He is one of the UK’s most enduringly successful artists. His celebrated landscapes express emotion and atmosphere with the use of bold blocks of colour and dramatic textural juxtapositions, while his more muted harbour scenes have an understated but no less intense impact.
